Certified Trauma Recovery Coach

If you have experienced trauma, you are not alone. It is estimated that 70% of people will experience a traumatic event at least once in their lifetime, 60% of adults report having had adverse childhood experiences (ACE), and currently 12 million adults are living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).


There are many types of trauma and all have significant effect on our bodies and brains. Trauma also effects how we see the world, how we see others, and how we see ourselves. 


Symptoms of trauma can interfere with us living the life we want to live. When we experience trauma, it gets trapped in our bodies and imprinted in our minds. Our brain and our nervous system continue to try to protect us even though the danger has passed, leaving us trapped in survival modes of fight, flight, or freeze. Survival mode is effective if you are in danger but if you are not, it is not a place to live and thrive and can cause further harm to you.


Trauma is not simply something you “get over”, and we are not to blame for our trauma, nor our reaction to it. With support and resources, we can recover and live a life that we love.
